SP2-A

The ANGER SP2-A machine is the most efficient solution for processing extruded aluminum profiles. While both processing spindles are working on one processing bridge, loading and unloading takes place in parallel on the second bridge. The second clamping bridge swivels into the machining area in less than 2 seconds.

Each tool is then machined alternately on both clamping bridges so that, ideally, the number of tool changes is halved. This allows the processing sequence to be optimized and non-productive times to be reduced to a minimum.

The proven, independent spindle systems on this machine also enable both spindles to work simultaneously on a very long component, parallel machining on both clamping bridges or simultaneous machining of two different components.

Highly efficient processing strategies

With two A-axes, the ANGER SP2-A removes the last limitation of independent machining with two spindles. Both traveling columns, both spindles, both A-axes and all clamping systems can be programmed and controlled individually. This results in completely new and highly efficient processing strategies with a significant reduction in all necessary non-productive times.

Maximum machine load

Depending on the project, profile geometry and scope of processing, both A-axes can be loaded on the underside as well as on the top side. This enables a further reduction in tool changes, as in extreme cases 4 A-axis sides can be traversed in succession with one tool. This enables optimum cycle times to be achieved, especially for parts that require a large number of different tools.

Fully automated production lines

The ANGER SP2-A has been developed for use in fully automated production lines. This allows the loading and unloading robot to work directly in the machine during machining time without interrupting the machining process of the spindles. Thanks to the positive locking of the two A-axes to each other and to the top and bottom, the machine can operate even when the roller shutter is open; for processing steps with the A-axis tilted, the automatic roller shutter ensures reliable protection in the production hall.

All machines in the ANGER SP series are based on an identical machine design, a standardized control system and a maximum number of identical parts. This can significantly reduce throughput times in production and optimize spare parts management for both the manufacturer and the customer, even when using different machine types.

Frequently asked questions

Is the machining carried out with minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) or coolant?

ANGER SP machines can be equipped with reduced quantity lubrication as well as with coolant. However, the majority of machining is already carried out with reduced quantity lubrication, in some cases even completely dry.

What is a double-spindle machine or a double-spindle machining center?

A double-spindle machining center is a CNC machining center with 2 machining spindles. Depending on the machine design, 2 (or more) identical components are processed synchronously in the double-spindle machine or, in the case of machines with independent spindle systems, two different components are processed simultaneously. The concept of independent spindle systems is extremely efficient, especially for very large components, when 2 spindles work simultaneously on one component.

Is it necessary to set up the ANGER machines for different parts?

We always try to clamp families of parts with universal clamping fixtures without the need for set-up. Depending on the characteristics of the variants, different clamping nests are nevertheless always required, but these can usually be installed in parallel on the clamping bridge due to the size of the machine.
